P & J Entertainments was formed in 1989 by Johanna and June Quaif who are the wives of Paul and John Quaif. In 1989 Jo and June bought their first 12 x 12 Bouncy Castle to hire out to friends and family. It became apparent there was a need for Bouncy Castle hire in East London. They were out delivering to schools, nurseries and fun days until they had saved enough to buy another castle which was suitable for older children. Jo and June were very well known around the London Borough of Waltham Forest and after purchasing their fourth Bouncy Castle decided that their once small part time job had now become a full time occupation. At this point they realised they could not give their growing business the time and energy it now required so handed it over to Paul and John.

The business went from strength to strength and with over 250 items of fun inflatable’s, small fairground rides, entertainers and team building activities, it is one of the largest entertainment companies in the south of England. Paul and John are still actively involved in their business either working in the office, servicing equipment, maintain vehicles ensuring all items are available for hire at a moment’s notice whether it be a local, national or corporate event. As the summer months are busy for school fetes, fun days, corporate and council events, Paul and John are always involved in their administration.

Paul and John are qualified RPII testers, a qualification endorsed by the Health and Safety Executive, travelling around London and the Home Counties to test inflatable’s for other small organisations. Their qualification allows them to test the safety of inflatables under another body of examiners called the PIPA Scheme.

As of December 2019 Paul and John retired from working in the office and the day to day running of the company. However they are still qualified RPII testers and help with the maintaining of vehicles and servicing of equipment.

January 2020 welcomed the new owner Luke Russell to P&J Entertainments. Luke has been trading in the Entertainment and Leisure industry for over 27 years and opened up Russell Up Events Ltd in 2012. P&J Entertainments is now part of the Russell Up Events Group Ltd .
